Mirror Work

One of the methods I use to find my own magnificence and stay aware of living in the moment is “mirror work”. I love mirror work as an exercise.  When I first began this method, I looked in the mirror and saw someone else reflected back at me, it was my ego. But I stayed with it long enough to notice how my mirror image began to transform. I surrendered to my fears about who I thought I was and the true image of my Self emerged.

This is the process:
Start with ten minutes and work your way up to thirty or sixty minutes depending on your tolerance. I once did a three hour session as part of a self discovery workshop.

Sit or stand and stare at yourself in the mirror. Notice your thoughts and any emotions you are feeling. Let them be. There’s nothing you need to do about them. Observe the different levels of information that comes through you. Stay with it even though you want to quit.

After a while you will begin to see a magnificent reflection of your true self emerge. This is the person you want to identify with, the person you want to fall in love with,  the one who is joyful, playful and powerful, the true experience of you.

So, honor your soul by choosing the light that shines from within you.
